Time Shifting
Time shifting enables viewers to access content beyond the live edge. LSS provides both basic and advanced time-shifting functions.

Basic Function
Enables viewers to move backwards along the stream timeline to rewind and access earlier segments within the live buffer duration.
Advanced Functions

| Start-over | Allows playback initiation from a specific past timestamp using Unix millisecond format |
| Catch-up | Enables playback between two defined past timestamps |
| nDVR | Records programs on user request with single shared file storage |
| nPVR | Similar recording mechanism but creates individual files per subscriber |
| LLCU | Provides extended content access beyond live buffer by creating VOD assets. CMS is responsible for retention and deletion |
