NodeGroup Deletion

Safely remove NodeGroups with built-in safety protections.

Prerequisites​

  • At least 2 worker NodeGroups must exist
  • NodeGroup in "Ready" or "Failed" state
  • Sufficient capacity for workload migration

Deletion Steps​

  1. Navigate to cluster → NodeGroups tab
  2. Click Actions → Delete NodeGroup
  3. Confirm by typing NodeGroup name
  4. Monitor deletion progress

Safety Features​

  • Automatic drainage: Workloads moved to other nodes
  • Migration verification: Health checks during process
  • Rollback protection: Stops if migration fails

Troubleshooting​

Cannot Delete: Verify not last/master NodeGroup, check capacity Timeout: Review pod policies and resource constraints Migration Failed: Scale remaining NodeGroups first
