Purpose of Resizing
The Resize function allows you to adjust Load Balancer resources (CPU, RAM) to match workload requirements without rebuilding the entire system. This is particularly useful when:
- Your application grows and needs to handle more concurrent connections
- You need to scale performance up or down for cost optimization
- You anticipate high traffic periods (events, promotions)
How to Resize
- In the Load Balancer management interface, click Resize in the actions toolbar
- The Resize window will appear on the right side of the screen
- Select the new configuration package that meets your requirements
- Click Update Configuration to apply changes
Resize Impact
When resizing a Load Balancer, be aware of the following impacts:
- Downtime: Load Balancer will restart to apply the new configuration
- Active connections: All current connections will be dropped during restart
- Configuration preservation: All listener and backend configurations remain unchanged
- IP address: Load Balancer IP address stays the same
- Load Balancer will automatically restart to apply new configuration
- Restart process typically takes 15-60 seconds depending on configuration
- During this time, the service will be unavailable and current connections will be terminated
Delete Load Balancer
When no longer needed, you can delete the Load Balancer to free up resources and stop billing charges.
How to Delete
- In the Load Balancer management interface, click Delete in the actions toolbar
- Confirm the action by typing the Load Balancer name in the confirmation field
- Click Confirm to complete the deletion process
Deleting a Load Balancer is irreversible. All configurations, listeners, and connections will be permanently lost. Ensure you have backed up important configurations before deletion.
