Multi-Domain

The Multi-Domain feature enables creation of alternative domain names alongside the primary domain. Alternative domains share cache and configuration settings while maintaining separate SSL certificate requirements.

Multi-Domain Benefits

Multi-Domain All domains configured under Multi-Domain share the same cache infrastructure, improving cache hit ratios and reducing origin server load.

Unified Configuration

Configuration changes apply to all domains within the Multi-Domain setup, simplifying management and ensuring consistency.

Cost Optimization

Shared resources across multiple domains provide cost-effective content delivery for organizations managing multiple domains with similar content.

Configuration Requirements

Primary Domain Setup

  • Configure the primary domain with origin server settings
  • Establish base cache policies and access controls
  • Set up initial SSL configuration

Alternative Domain Addition

  • Add alternative domains through the Multi-Domain interface
  • Alternative domains inherit primary domain configuration
  • Each alternative domain requires separate SSL certificate configuration

SSL Certificate Management

Individual SSL Requirements

Each domain within a Multi-Domain configuration requires its own SSL certificate:

  • Primary domain SSL certificate
  • Separate SSL certificates for each alternative domain
  • Independent certificate management and renewal

Certificate Options

  • Manual certificate upload for each domain
  • Let's Encrypt automatic certificates per domain
  • Mixed certificate types (manual + automatic) supported

Configuration Process

Adding Alternative Domains

  1. Access the primary domain configuration
  2. Navigate to Multi-Domain settings
  3. Add alternative domain names
  4. Configure SSL certificates for each new domain
  5. Verify DNS configuration for all domains

Cache Sharing Verification

  • Monitor cache hit ratios across all domains
  • Verify content consistency between domains
  • Check cache purge operations affect all domains

Management Considerations

DNS Configuration

Each domain requires proper DNS configuration pointing to the CDN infrastructure.

Cache Purge Operations

Cache purge operations performed on any domain affect the shared cache for all domains in the Multi-Domain setup.

Analytics and Reporting

Analytics may aggregate data across all domains or provide domain-specific reporting depending on configuration.
